Roots Presents: HerOrangeCoat with support from Nico Paul and Lilian
Roots is putting on an intimate night of enchanting folk at the lovely Cardi Arms. Join us for enticing indie-folk from HerOrangeCoat, cathartic chamber pop from Nico Paul, and traditional folk & fairytales from Lilian. We feel so lucky to be bringing you such a special line up, see you there…
Hailing from West Yorkshire, indie-folk singer-songwriter HerOrangeCoat is a definitive example of the sum being greater than the parts. Armed with her ukulele, she crafts songs that turn melancholy into an enticing musical journey that demands to be heard.
Canadian-born, Leeds-based singer/songwriter Nico Paul explores grounded yet poetic lyricism, combined with intricate instrumentation and rich vocal harmony. Ranging from cathartic chamber pop to desolate, introspective folk, his debut EP “What is Lifted” dissects the intimate relationship between grand fantasy and stark reality. For fans of Leonard Cohen, Weyes Blood, Sufjan Stevens, and Feist.
Yorkshire based singer/storyteller of traditional folk and fairytales. Though song Lilian explores real world issues and our encounters with the supernatural. “At times ethereal, at times vivid, Lilian’s Pareidolia is a remarkable triumph in the use of acoustic light and shade”. Tykes/Stirrings Magazine
