Wakefield Market
The open market in Wakefield sits in the heart of the city in the stunning Cathedral Precinct, and is as much of a shopping attraction as the nearby Trinity Walk and Ridings shopping centres. It’s easy to reach with a nearby bus station and sitting between two train stations connecting to the whole of West Yorkshire. And what’s more you’ll find everything you could ever want (and probably more) amongst our incredible range of stalls and street food stands.
Top Tip
Thursday is global market day and the Asian textiles that dominate a number of the stalls once a week are truly breathtaking.
Interesting Fact
The market is moving with the times, with traders switching from traditional steel framed stalls with wooden counters to gazebos in late 2020. This modern look in what is a very traditional market setting gives Wakefield Market a very striking look.
