Poems For Parents with Liz Berry

27th February 2026

These relaxed events are for parents with babies (pre-walkers/pre-talkers) to enjoy grown-up poems about parenthood and everything else life throws at us. It’s an opportunity to unwind and escape through the power of words, in a relaxed space designed for new parents.

Poems for Parents is presented as part of Leeds Storytelling Festival. LSF is produced in partnership between Leeds Libraries, Wrongsemble, and LIVEwire Poetry. Liz Berry is an award-winning poet from Birmingham. Her critically acclaimed collections include Black Country, The Home Child and The Republic of Motherhood, a pamphlet which charts the transformative experience of becoming a mum. Described as “raw and beautiful” (Emma Jane Unsworth) and “an electrifying collection of poems that makes your heart sing” (Jessie Burton), Liz’s poems explore the joys and challenges of motherhood, from its darkest hours to its brightest days.

Supported using public funding by Arts Council England

A pay-what-you-decide event recommended for parents with babies.
