The meeting will also have….
FUNdraising activities for everyone!!!
These include a bake sale, DVD/Blu-ray/book sale and raffle (full of awesome prizes), so bring along your spare pennies, to help us raise money for Scalarama Leeds 2026!
All money raised from the fundraiser goes towards helping out our 2026 film festival, helping out mainly with the print programme and our new film programmers scheme.
After all that we are screening the incredible documentary film: Goodnight Brooklyn!
Goodnight Brooklyn
From 2005 to 2014 Death By Audio served as an incubator for underground music, art and a non-traditional living environment. Founders: Oliver Ackermann, Edan Wilber and Matthew Conboy, endure the challenges of hosting hundreds of people a night with the constant threat of building department or police raids. We follow them through the last weeks as they navigate the stress of losing their space to Vice Media and the associated threats and intimidation to remove art from walls and keep residents in fear of reprisals. It also acts as an inspiration to anyone who wants to put on DIY events as even though they closed they had 9 awesome years of hosting amazing gigs and providing a safe space for creatives to express themselves and form a community.
