Open Farm Sunday
Open Farm Sunday offers an opportunity to explore rural life in the past and present whilst supporting a wider national campaign to reconnect people with farming and the countryside.
This year we’re taking part for the first time, and will be waiting to open gates and open minds within the historic setting of our working farmstead and rare breeds centre – a place where food, land and people meet.
Visitors can see our animals at close quarters and learn more about conservation farming and the importance of protecting rare and native breeds, whilst our historic barns, byres, and working spaces offer a glimpse into farm life across generations.
Our interactive trail reveals what life was like for farm and estate workers of the past, and displays of traditional equipment and machinery tell the story of how food was grown and animals were looked after, long before the introduction of modern technology.
Bookable, guided farm tours will run throughout the day.
Please note: Access to the Play Barn is not included as part of Open Farm Sunday – tickets for this need to be purchased separately
