Mafwa Midsummer
Mafwa Midsummer is a free three-day Refugee Week festival taking place at Roxby Community Garden in Lincoln Green, Leeds.
Across the weekend, audiences can expect dance, storytelling, live music, creative workshops, gardening activities, photography exhibitions, family-friendly sessions and community showcases unfolding throughout the garden.
This year’s programme includes contributions from Brave Words, Yorkshire Dance, Hind and the Jafar Cakes, BoomChikkaBoom, Kuluhenna Drama, Leeds Piano Trail, Lens Lab, Space2, Lincoln Greeners, Asmarina Voices, Harmony Choir and more.
Whether you come along for a particular workshop or performance, bring the family for an afternoon of creative activity, or simply spend time in the garden, we’d love to welcome you.

What you can expect:
Friday 19 June, 15:00–17:00 – Gather, Listen, Begin
Open the festival with photography, music, garden tours, community voices and conversations in the Roxby Community Garden.
Saturday 20 June, 12:00–18:00 – Play, Move, Create
A family-friendly afternoon of dance, storytelling, creative workshops, performances and play for all ages, with opportunities to join in throughout the day.
Sunday 21 June, 12:00–16:00 – Sing, Share, Celebrate
Music, performances, creative activities and community showcases bringing the festival to a joyful close.
