Paper Dolls: Coifs, Coils & Curls (U)
This intergenerational workshop invites parents, guardians, and children to come together in a joyful, hands-on creative experience. Participants will design and style paper dolls, focusing on a range of African cultural hairstyles and the rich histories behind them.
Children can explore their creativity by crafting hairstyles, cutting out and assembling outfits, or colouring and decorating their dolls using crayons and colouring pencils. The session encourages teamwork, imagination, and meaningful connection through art and storytelling.
This free drop-in workshop is open to children aged 4–13, accompanied by a parent or guardian. (And truly—ages 0 to Methuselah are welcome!) All materials provided, including child-friendly scissors, colouring pens and pencils, glue sticks, double-sided clear tape, and felt fabric.
Come along and have a funky good time!
Even though this is a free drop in workshop, it is helpful if you could reserve a space to help us know expected numbers.
As part of Leeds International African Arts Festival.
