Poetry Walk! Leeds Season of Culture 2026
Join Leeds eco-poet Kate Simpson in exploring the city’s waterway, looking closer at the nature and stories that live in and around it. Along the way there will be chances to start and write your own poems with prompts and support from Kate.
A relaxed and welcoming session for anyone interested in creativity, nature and local places – no previous writing experience necessary.
A project funded by Leeds Seasons of Culture and the Poetry School.
This is a creative canal walk from Leeds City Centre towards Kirkstall.
This project is part of the Seasons of Culture Programme funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Council through the Leeds Cultural Investment Programme.
Please consider using public transport to arrive at Office Lock
Please bring something to write on and with – a paper and pen or a notes app on a phone.
