Grimethorpe Colliery Band
Formed in 1917 in South Yorkshire, Grimethorpe Colliery Band is a British institution. National and British Open Champion on numerous occasions, the band received two gold discs and a BAFTA nomination for its contributions to the global hit movie Brassed Off. The band has long championed new music for brass and is noted for its diverse concert performances, including the FIFA World Cup, BAFTA Awards, BBC Proms, Eurovision, and London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
