Bat Walk at Temple Newsam
Meet in the courtyard for tea and biscuits. There is a 1/2 hour natural history slide talk followed by a quiz and some videos. After an introduction to the use of Bat detectors there is a guided walk approximately two miles in length.
The route is reasonably accessible mostly on tarmac paths. A variety of roosting and feeding habitats are covered. In the past about five species of bat have been encountered engaged in a variety of natural behaviour.
The walk will finish back at the house at about 10pm but families with very young children may want to make this shorter.
Booking essential.
