SongShare with The Swan Song Project – Dying Matters Week Special
Join us for a Dying Matters Week special “SongShare” event. Come and hear songs written by terminally ill and bereaved people supported by The Swan Song Project.
The Swan Song Project is a Leeds based charity that helps terminally Ill and bereaved people to write and record original songs. Since 2017 the charity has helped over 150 families to write their Swan Songs. They now have a team of songwriters and offer their unique service across the country. They believe in Celebrating Lives, Making Memories and Leaving Legacies.
This bi-annual event creates a chance for people to share their songs publicly and meet others who have also written Swan Songs. Each song with be introduced by it’s writer (Or a family member if the writer has since passed away), we will then listen to it together. We will mostly be listening to the recorded versions of the songs but may have some live performances too.
The event is free to attend but tickets must be reserved in advance.
This event takes place in The Music Library on the 1st Floor at Leeds Central Library.
Songshare starts at 1pm and runs until 3pm with a break for refreshments.
This event will likely be quite emotional and talk openly about death and bereavement.
Please visit www.swansongproject.co.uk to find out more about the charity.
Contact Ben@swansongproject.co.uk if you have any questions about the event.
