Free Stop Motion for Story telling workshop
Join us at Armley Community Hub and Library for a four-week creative workshop exploring storytelling through stop motion animation.
Participants will learn the basics of stop motion animation and use it as a tool to tell stories that reflect their own cultures, heritage, and experiences of community. Together we will explore how drawings, photographs and Collages can be brought to life through animation.
The workshop focuses on uncovering untold or overlooked stories – personal memories and community histories that shape where we live. Participants will develop their own short stop-motion pieces while learning simple animation techniques they can continue at home.
No previous experience is needed and all materials will be provided.
Animations created during the workshops will contribute to the outcomes of a digital arts trail planned for Armley in summer 2027.
What to expect:
Learn the basics of stop motion animation
Develop your own short animated story
Work with drawings images, and collage to create stop motion animation
Suitable for: Adults (18+)
