A Football Odyssey Book Signing with Local Author Rob Potts
Join us in the bookshop to celebrate the launch of a new football book written by fans for fans. Rob will be in the shop 4 – 5pm signing copies of A Football Odyssey. Pre-order your copy for the RRP £12 (this includes entrance to the signing). He also invites you to join him for a drink and a chat in Farsley’s Cargo Wines, following the signing.
In his book, local author Rob Potts travels the five continents and looks at how over 80 clubs have transformed their communities. This is a brilliant resource guide to the history, politics and passion that fans around the world have for the beautiful game.
Did you know two of drug lord Pablo Escobar’s passions were hippos and football and he bankrolled his own club Atlético Nacional? Unlike Pablo, the hippos are still roaming free.
What’s the best way to travel to St. Pauli in Germany? Where do you get the cheapest pint and a pie? And which ULTRA fans combined to bring down a government?
A Football Odyssey answers these questions and more… how to get to the stadiums, where to stay and where best to eat on a budget that would embarrass the prawn sandwich brigade.
A ticket includes one copy of the book. Friends and family can attend together with one ticket. If more than one book is required, please order the number of tickets to match.
