Abbey House Museum Memories: The 2026 Alastair Laurence Lecture
In 2027, Abbey House will mark 100 years as a museum. In the lead–up we aim to capture people’s memories of this unique space, from the building and its displays to the people who worked and visited here. This event will be a combination of talk, displaying historic photographs from across the museum’s 99 year history, and a chance to reminisce or express interest in contributing your memories.
This event is the inaugural Alastair Laurence Lecture. Dr Laurence had a lifelong scholarly devotion to Abbey House and wrote an authoritative work on its history up to 1927.
It is free to attend but booking is essential.
Part of Heritage Open Days 2026.
