Gothic Takeover at Leeds City Museum on Saturday 23rd May
Leeds Festival of Gothica are hosting a GOTHIC takeover on Saturday 23rd of May between 11am and 5pm at Leeds City Museum to pay homage to World Goth Day in its subcultural birthplace of LEEDS!
🕸 The event will be opened by novelist, poet and March Violet the iconic Rosie Garland. Rosie will also be performing & has a stall with band merch & her glorious novels.
🕸 Stroll around the FREE ALT MARKET which will web its way around the museum from Brodrick Hall, in Denny Room, in the upper circle and some vendors will be in the exhibition spaces.
🕸 Zeitgeist Zero will be on the decks with guest DJs sets in Brodrick Hall alongside a pop up GOTH cocktail bar by Bytchmix.
🕸 In the herbarium cafe immerse yourself in gothic recitals curated by Leeds Piano Competition on the GOTH PIANO There will be set and impromptu opportunities from Chopin to contemporary sonatas.
🕸 Victorian selfie? Release your Dorian Gray and have a portrait by Ellie Andrews in the pop up studio in the cafe.
🕸 We have two FREE TALKS in the Denny Room from Georgian Balog on ‘Who is the real Dracula?’ at 12.30pm & ‘Evil amongst us: scapegoats, suspicion, and the folk devils of the Satanic Panic’ by Dr Bethan Juliet Oakes at 1.30pm. Booking required.
🕸 LIVE MUSIC in The Music Leeds Us Exhibition Leeds Conservatoire have curated sets between 1pm to 3pm
🕸 BRUTALIST Architecture walk? The Biro Guy will offering two walks at 11.30am & 2.30pm. Booking required.

The iconic Le Phonographique have a day club. Soak up some history and attend one of the first ever goth clubs at the Hifi Club Leeds from 1pm to 6pm. This is club shaped the genre. Over 18s only.
🕸 Want some evening delights? Inkubus Sukkubus are playing Boom with support from The Exceptional Mr Hyde from 7pm to 11pm
