Surviving Earth (15)
Years after fleeing military conscription during the Yugoslav conflict, Vlad is building a community in Bristol, working as a drugs counsellor and starting a balkan band with his friends.
A renegade by nature- he rebels against any systemic form although the band is excelling, his responsibilities are rapidly falling apart – including the relationship with his daughter, Maria. Having always struggled with his past and self-forgiveness he must find reasons to stay afloat and the strength to fight against a potential relapse.
A powerful debut feature from writer-director Thea Gajić, Surviving Earth announces the arrival of a bold and exciting new voice in contemporary British cinema.
