LSRPG: Worldbuilding Workshop | Compass Festival 2026
Do you enjoy world-building, creative writing, local history, or trying something new?
Compass Live Art, an independent arts charity and biennial arts festival, are inviting local people to build a brand-new tabletop role-playing game called “LSRPG”, developed by Leeds-based artists, Matt Allen & Jack Sibley.
In this free 3-hour workshop, participants are invited to play-test LSRPG. You will be introduced to the rules and characters of the game, based on the stories, lore and local histories shared by participants in the Worldbuilding Workshops taking place at Sunny Bank Mills on 6 July 2026 and Grand Strategium on 18 July 2026.
You do not need to have attended one of the Worldbuilding Workshops in order to participate in this Game-Testing Session. Simply come along, test out an early version of the game, and share your feedback!
No previous experience of tabletop role-playing games is needed.
There are 12 spots available per workshop.
Workshops will last 3 hours with scheduled breaks and participants are welcome to take additional breaks as required.
If you can’t make this workshop at Sunny Bank Mills, don’t worry, there are LSRPG Worldbuilding & Game Testing workshops taking place at Flamingos Coffee House and Grand Strategium. Links to all LSRPG workshops can be found on the Compass website.
Access Information: The room the workshop will be held in Sunny Bank Mills is wheelchair accessible via step free access or a lift and there is an accessible toilet. For more information about access at Sunny Bank Mills please see this guide.
If you have any questions about the workshop, please email producing@compassliveart.org.uk
This project is funded by Leeds City Council through the Leeds Cultural Investment Programme. Part of the Leeds400 celebrations in 2026.
