Make it Social: Stone-Felting
Take a mindful break from Uni work and try your hands at the sensory art of stone-felting. Pizza included!
*Please note this event is for students only. Please register for a place using your University email.*
In this workshop you’ll be guided to create your own felted stones inspired by the bold and colourful designs of textile artist Guido Marchini, held in our International Textile Collection.
These stones are super fun and easy to make, using a technique called wet felting. This meshes wool fibres together over the stone’s surface. The felted stones are soft, yet heavy, making them comforting to hold in your hand. This relaxing process encourages you to slow down, connect with your movements, and get creative in a calm atmosphere. By the end of the workshop you’ll have your own handful of artworks to take away.
This workshop will be run by Cat, our Events & Engagement Assistant. Cat loves trying out lots of different crafts, from creating cards with paint markers to medieval style embroidery! If you like trying new things, or want to get back into being creative, this is the perfect workshop for you.
Come along with a group of friends, or make new ones as you craft together. All materials will be provided. We’ll also have pizza, snacks and soft drinks to enjoy during the session.
We look forward to you joining us!
