People’s History of Leeds Celebration
Join us to launch the second volume of the People’s History of Leeds. Stories from ordinary and extraordinary people, who make the city what it is.
There’ll be live storytelling, creative workshops, refreshments – and a chance to tell your own story. Pick up your free copy of the People’s History of Leeds vol 2!
How did a Black tuba-player put Leeds at the heart of the jazz scene in the 1950s? Where was the first Sikh temple in the city – and who were the women who helped support it? How have Working Men’s Clubs shaped the culture of Leeds? How did a mill in Farsley go from producing textiles to nuturing creativity? Who was the first female bouncer in Leeds? Find out at this very special celebration of what makes Leeds special.
