Community Roller Dance
Evening Classes at Yorkshire Dance.
Roller Dance is a type of roller skating that has been around for decades. Community Roller Dance Sessions are a friendly, no-pressure space to learn the art of roller dance together. We cater for beginners and more advanced skaters. You must be able to stand still on skates, go forward and stop safely. We will learn basic steps from Downtown, Zero, Strut Walk, to learning routines as a group.
We vary between learning skate skills for roller dance, routines and dances. This term we will alternate between structured Taught Lesson and a Skill Share Session. The taught lessons are more structured, whilst the skill share sessions are more free, but there is still a coach available for questions:
What to Wear
Whatever you feel comfortable in, protective clothing and your own skates. You MUST wear jamplugs or toestops. Inline and quad skates welcome. No skate hire available.
For queries or for more information about class accessibility email info@theskatescholarship.com.
Please note this class takes place at Yorkshire Dance but is run by independent dance artists. If you have any queries please contact The Skate Scholarship directly.
