The Picture Gallery Revealed – Temple Newsam
The Picture Gallery is the most magnificent room at Temple Newsam.
One of the greatest aspects of the room is the set of furniture made by James Pascall in the mid 18th century. The seat furniture is still covered in its original floral needlework creating an ‘everlasting herbaceous border’ around the room.
Usually, these seats are covered to protect them from fading in the light. For one weekend we will lift the covers and visitors will be able to enjoy the furniture in all its glory.
There will also be staff on hand to tell you more details about the room and the stories it reveals.
Included in normal admission fees.
