Exhibition on Screen: Easter in Art
The story of Christ’s death and resurrection has shaped western culture for over 2000 years and remains one of the most enduring subjects in Western art. Artists from the third century to the modern day have been drawn to this significant moment in our cultural heritage. Whatever one’s religious beliefs, it is hard not to be moved by the emotion and quality of works by Michelangelo, Leonardo, Titian, Raphael, Rembrandt and many more.
Shot on location in Jerusalem, the United States and across Europe, the film explores how artists have depicted the Easter story through the ages.
Directed by Phil Grabsky.
