I Have Seen The Last Rays
Join us for our Summer Concert in St Edmund’s Church in Roundhay, Leeds.
Founded in 1948, Leeds Guild of Singers has established a reputation as one of Yorkshire’s finest chamber choirs and is a group of around 40 singers which prides itself on a light, flexible and pure sound.
We sing a wide and adventurous repertoire of sacred and secular music, mostly unaccompanied and spanning seven centuries. We give about six concerts each season in a variety of venues in Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region.
This concert’s programme will showcase a rugged palette of songs wrapping texts written by Brontë, Blake and Goethe. It will includes pieces by
Sir James MacMillan
Jaako Mäntyjärvi
Robert Schumann
Eric Whitacre
Sir Peter Maxwell Davies
