Growing Through Grief
The Grief Garden is a community-led project that invites anyone experiencing grief to come together to create a garden as a space for acceptance, connection, and healing. In the garden, you are welcome to express and explore your grief in ways that feel right for you, while working alongside others to design, plant and care for a garden that grows with the community.
Through working with nature, the garden encourages a gentle, reciprocal relationship between humans and the natural world and aims to make space for grief to be, without pressure to ‘get better’. Together we hope to help normalise conversations about death and loss within our lives and wider society.
Practical Information:
Parking is available at Woodhall Hotel & Spa, LS22 4JA. From the car park, it’s about a 6-minute walk along the road behind the hotel, past the Monastery and the cottages, then a short distance into the woodland.
The closest bus stop is on Harewood Road, served by the X99 from Leeds to Wetherby. From there, take the footpath directly opposite Crabtree Lane. It’s approximately a 20 minute walk up the lane to the Community Garden which will be on your right.
