Em Craig’s On Learning To Be A Fish
Em Craig is a Saxophonist and composer from Edinburgh, now based in Glasgow. Their music is defined by their boundaryless attitude, freely pulling sounds from a wide berth of musical styles. The music careers from intimate spoken word passages up to dramatic improvised solos and into light-hearted melodic fun. Expect groove, virtuosity and a big heart from this special performance.
Recently featured on the final of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Jazz Musician competition in 2025 and being heard in venues across the UK and Europe such as Ronnie Scott’s and Bergen Jazzforum, Em Craig is one of the leading voices in young British Jazz. They come to this gig, with their quintet composed of close-collaborators: Nils Kavanagh (Young Irish Jazz Musician Winner 2022): piano; Bailey Love: drums, Lizzie Beesley: guitar; and Benedict Stephens: double bass.
