Shadow Structures
Working with your family make small scale, hand-held structures from paper, wire and tape. Then arrange them in front of lamps and torches – alongside sculptures made by other visitors – to produce a landscape of shadowy figures that overlap and intercept each other. Then, why not spend time in current sculpture exhibitions by Jean (Hans) Arp and Garth Evans to consider how shadow is significant in art made in three dimensions.
