Story Explorers: Whale Tales
How does an octopus tell its story? How does a whale hunt in the dark? Dive in with a real-life marine biologist and come on a journey from the ocean shallows to the deep sea where we will be asking the question – how do marine organisms communicate?
Framed through storytelling and with active demonstrations, the session offers fun and engaging insights into a world that may seem alien to many of us. Taking place at various venues:
Tuesday 26th May, 10.30am-11.30am – Rothwell Community Hub and Library
Tuesday 26th May, 2.30pm-3.30pm – Headingley Community Hub and Library
Friday 29th May, 11am-12noon – Leeds Central Library
Friday 29th May, 2.30pm-3.30pm – Seacroft Community Hub and Library
A free family-friendly event recommended for children aged 5+. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The session is delivered by Neridia, a community interest company started by Leeds-based Marine Biologist, Rob. Making real world science accessible, Neridia focuses on highlighting the excitement and mystery of the marine world through engaging and interactive lessons and workshops.
Our Story Explorers exhibition has been extended until Saturday 29 August so even more families can adventure into space, through the jungle and to the bottom of the ocean. Right through to the end of the summer holidays!
Visit Leeds Central Library and take a fantastical trip to the far reaches of outer space, the depths of the jungle and the bottom of the ocean floor in a free family experience that we’ve created with the British Library.
